What the H*** were we thinking!

We have a very unexpected new addition to our family. Her name is Oreo, and she's a cute little puppy! She's 1/2 lab, 1/2 hound. Me and Mark were jogging around the Green Belt, and Bailey was on her bike. Someone was giving away free puppies. We stopped to hold them, and Bailey started begging for one (of course). I told her there was no way Mark would let us have another dog. Mark said, "I don't really care." He said it RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER!!! Well, we continued on our run, and Bailey was crying and begging the whole way. She was literally sobbing by the time we got to the truck. Mark made her get out while we talked about it. There was only one girl in the group, so Mark told her that we would drive back around and if the girl was still there, then she could have it. If she was already gone, then it wasn't meant to be, and she COULDN'T throw a fit. When we got there, people were walking off with puppies left and right. We thought we were in the clear. There were only 2 left...the girl and a boy. Right as we walked up, a young guy on a bike (probably 20 years old) picked up the girl and said he would take her. Bailey tried with all her might to hold back the tears. The guy who was giving them away tried to casually convince him to take the boy puppy, but he was set on the girl. The man finally told him that Bailey could only have one if it was a girl. He really wanted the girl, but he took one look at Bailey's devastated little face, and handed the little girl puppy over to her, and said he would take the boy. That's when Bailey's tears started coming. It was the sweetest thing. I was sure that he was young enough to not care if a little girl wanted the same puppy as him. It's nice to know that I was wrong, and there are so many good people out there. In the truck on the way home, I was wondering what the heck we had just done! But I turned around and saw Bailey giggling while her puppy smothered her with kisses, and I thought maybe it would be okay. Mark said it just felt right. We thought Bailey needed the same opportunity that Sawyer had with Reeses. She has been SO responsible so far. She does everything, including getting up with her at night. Bailey only got 3 hours of sleep the first night. She is so motherly, and is doing a great job. Reeses has a new best friend, and is SO sweet with her. She just loves her. Between Bailey and Reeses, poor little Oreo is totally smothered with love! Now that the garage is finished, we just need to put a dog door going from the garage to the back yard, and that's where they will stay.

So Many Screaming Girls...

Despite the fact that Bailey can only hear out of one ear now...DAVID ARCHULETA ROCKS! The concert was AWESOME! We have never heard so many screaming girls. People started lining up for it at 7:00 that morning. The line went from the Civic Auditorium doors, clear past the High School practice field, and out to the road. We didn't have to get there that early, because Mark bought VIP tickets, which guaranteed us a seat in the first 5 rows.

We joined the madness at about 5:30.

We finally made it to the entrance.

We were on the 5th row, right hand side...awesome seats!

He put on a great show. Even Mark and Sawyer were very impressed. He interacted a lot with the audience, and of course that got all the girls screaming their heads off. It was so much fun!

We hung around after the show. We heard that sometimes they will come out and sign autographs after most of the people have left. His band came out, and Bailey got them to sign her CD. She thought that was pretty cool. This is the drummer.

This is the guitar player.

This was the keyboard player. She was really nice to Bailey.

This is her signed CD cover. She's still missing David's signature. Maybe she'll get it someday.

I forget that we had just bought a video camera, so I didn't bring it. I took this with my regular camera, so it's not great. This is him singing Crush. It will give you a glimpse of what it was like with all those screaming girls.

My Girl's Trip

A few weekends ago I took a girl's trip to Utah with 5 of my friends. We had SO much fun! I always think the drive down there takes FOREVER, and is SO boring....but with six girls in the car chatting, it felt like I blinked and we were there! We went to some fun stores, ate at yummy places, shopped for Easter dresses for our girls, bought our traditional matching jammies, had Mac makeovers, and got pedicures. I love these ladies, and after a fun and relaxing weekend away, I felt renewed to conquer my regular life again.

Daddy/Daughter Date Night

The Achievement Day girls planned a Daddy/Daughter Dinner and Dance with a 70's theme! They were SO cute, and had so much fun! Mark loved the opportunity to spend time with Bailey. She is such a daddy's girl, and just beams whenever she's around him. To go on a date with him, that she helped plan out with all her friends, was the funnest thing for her.

Peace out!

National Scrapbook Day!

I went with some friends to an all night scrapbook event at the Red Lion Hotel in honor of National Scrapbook Day. Like usual, I had a blast! I got 18 pages done, ate yummy food, and laughed with great company. The highlight of the weekend was when we found out a local scrapbook store was going out of business. We had a great connection, so the owner let us go into the store after she closed. However much stuff we could fit in a bag, we only had to pay $25 for! I went to town! I got over $500 worth of stuff for only $25! I was giddy about it for the rest of the weekend. That kind of luck NEVER happens to me! I never buy rub-ons because they are so expensive....I got every rub-on in the store! I added up how much money I would have spent on just those, and it was over $200! I'm still excited just thinking about it :)! I can't wait until October for the next all nighter!
