Oh Please, Oh Please, Don't Eat My Trees!

We love our backyard. We had it looking so beautiful last summer. Then the dogs started eating all of our bushes. You would think that after getting a stick wedged across the roof of her mouth and jammed between her teeth, Oreo would have learned her lesson. Not so! Mark sent me a text on Friday night that the dogs had eaten the 3 trees in the backyard. I didn't think much of it...they pull a branch down here and there all the time. Boy was I in for a shocker when I got home and Mark had me look outside! He wasn't kidding....THEY ATE THE TREES!!!

I have to admit that I giggled a little bit when I looked out and this is what I saw. It is literally just a stick coming out of the ground now.

Here is our poor middle tree.

Here is the one in the top, right corner of the yard. Gotta love the big branch on the ground next to it.

Branches like this are ALL over our backyard now. Mark and the dogs have been getting along really good lately. He even bought them $30 worth of toys last weekend. I guess the toys weren't as fun as the trees. Needless to say, the feud is back on!

Christmas Recipe Book

I am doing a different craft each month with some friends. In January we made Christmas recipe books. They turned out so cute. We will add recipes to them each year. I am already super excited about our February craft. Stay tuned.....

Happy Birthday Mark!

Saturday was Mark's birthday. He woke up to breakfast in bed...done by Bailey. She also made him a silly hat he had to wear. We went to a yummy lunch at Texas Roadhouse, and then went out shopping for his present. I was going to be a good wife and go get him his present on my own, but I wanted to get him a Shop Vac, and there are so many to choose from. I told him he was just going to have to go pick it out himself. He got the one he wanted, so now that can be checked off of his garage wish list. Happy birthday Mark! We love you, and we hope your day was great!

Sledding!

I wanted it to snow so bad over Christmas break, so we could go sledding. It FINALLY snowed after the first of the year. We jumped at the chance, and got one good sledding day in right before school started again. We went to the Ucon Pit on a perfect day. Everyone must have had the same idea, because it was packed. We went with the Temples, and then, by chance, we saw the Waters family up there. We had tons of fun! Me and Bailey could sled forever! We never get tired of going up and down the hill. We bought some cheap tubes at Toys R Us, and they were by far the crowd favorite. I can't wait to go again.

Bailey and Marlee flipped over the top of some guy that was just laying at the bottom of the hill. They wiped out pretty good, but it sure didn't slow them down any. I think these girls must have gone up and down the hill a million times!

Sawyer and Ethan...big goof heads!

Go Mark!

The crowd thinned out when the sun started going down. That's when we really got going. We left right after dark.

Happy 2010!

Happy New Year! We rang in the New Year at the Temple's house. We ate yummy food, and played Rock Band.

Here are some of my 2010 goals:

1. Get in shape and run at least 3 races (1 of them has to be a 1/2 marathon). I've had some 'issues' that have kept me from running, and now they are fixed! I'm super excited to get back into it.

2. Attend the Temple at least 12 times.

3. Finish decorating the main floor of the house.

4.Do at least 20 freezer meals.

5. Make a cute card tin, and fill it with homemade cards.

6. Organize my recipes (this is an ongoing one from 2009).

7. Get my blog printed.

8. Get our family pictures taken.

9. Get 10 Family names done at the Temple.

10. Help Sawyer finish his Duty to God.

I hope 2010 is GREAT!
