"Mrs. Varvel"

I have had the FANTASTIC opportunity to have a long term subbing job at Falls Valley while Mrs. Allen, a 6th grade teacher, was out on maternity leave. I was in the class for the whole 3rd term of school (8 weeks). It was A LOT of work, but so fun and rewarding. It doesn't take long to love these kids. I had the best homeroom class. The kids rotate through 3 teachers for 6 subject blocks each day. I taught English to my homeroom class in the morning. Then I taught Reading, Math, and 3 blocks of Western Civilization at the end of the day. My 8 weeks ended yesterday, and I am so relieved. Although it was a great experience, I will be glad to focus on my family more now. I know from this experience that I picked the right major in college. I love teaching. I love subbing too. I will continue subbing at Falls Valley, for as long as they need me.

My homeroom class

There is a 'no writing on the white board' rule, but the kids ignored the rule to write me all kinds of cute messages on my last day. Every time I turned around, they would try to be sneaky and leave me a note. I just pretended I didn't see them :)! I will sure miss these little kidlets!

Crafts, Crafts, and more Crafts!

I have been doing so good with my goal to make a different craft each month. I finished two in March, and I love them both!

One of my New Years Resolutions was to make a card box, and lots of handmade cards to go in it. I started one last month, and I finally finished it.

My card box.

All organized!

I also went on a quick weekend trip down to Salt Lake City with Jenni and Kassie, so we could shop at Pebbles in my Pocket. It's my favorite scrapbook store EVER! They have the best page kits and card kits. After getting lost for a long time, we finally made it to our hotel. We started a craft that I was super excited about! It's the coolest planner! We didn't have time to finish them that night, because we had to get some sleep for our big shopping day. We had an AWESOME time shopping, but I was still really excited to finish my planner.

Yay for Pebbles in my Pocket!

Jenni, Kassie, Tricia

I just got home from our annual scrapbook overnighter in Blackfoot. I was able to finish my planner, and I love it! It is AWESOME! Jenni sells these planners at http://www.savvysolutions.etsy.com/. If you want to get your life organized, and keep if that way, you should check them out....they are great!

There are 8 different sections. Everything from a monthly calendar, to meal planning. Each sections has a cute coordinating divider page. I love mine!

I can't wait to see what we make next month!

Ski Club

Bailey was in the Falls Valley Ski Club this winter. The Ski Club (4th grade and up), rides a bus up to Kelly Canyon after school once a week for a month. They get a discount on lessons and skiing. She took two lessons, and learned a lot. She was ready to hit the big hill on the last trip up, but then she couldn't go. She fell off the tire swing at school and hurt her wrist. She had so much fun the other three times though. She can't wait to go again next season. Hopefully she can teach me!
