Homecoming

Sawyer asked Breeanna to Homecoming by pitching a tent in her front yard. there was a sign on the outside that said, "I was going to camp out all night so I could be the first to ask you to homecoming, but a bear scared me away." Then on the inside of the tent there was a stuffed bear holding a sign saying, "Sawyer would love to go to homecoming with you."

She answered him by decorating his room with streamers, balloons, and glow in the dark stars and planets. There were notes in the balloons saying, "You should have camped out all night, because my answer was written in the stars. Now you will have to wait until tonight to see if you're a lucky guy."

She left the tent on his bed for good measure.

He actually left all the glow in the dark stuff up for awhile, because it looked really cool at night. Especially the stars spinning on the ceiling fan.

The glow in the dark stars spelled YES on his ceiling. So cute and clever!

They had a great group! There were 9 couples. For the day date they went to the Wild Adventure Corn Maze. They went through the maze, played on the slides, shot the corn cannon, and ate corn.

Getting instructions for the maze.

Sawyer and Bree. I'm glad they're so mature and serious :)!

 They found the A&W bear!

That evening they came to our house for dinner. Eighteen kids was a little crazy, but fun!

Love her boots!

This one is my favorite!

Of course they had to get at least one typical Sawyer picture!

They all showed up to the dance in a horse drawn carriage. So cool!

They had a great time. I'm so glad Sawyer surrounds himself with awesome friends!

Bonneville Cross Country 2012

Sawyer just ended his final Bonneville cross country season! It's been a great four years!

Pocatello:
They started the season off at the Pocatello Challenge. It's a hard, dusty course with plenty of big hills. He had a great first race. He dropped 20 seconds off of his time on this course from the previous year.

Finishing at Pocatello.

Digger Invite:
This is always one of our favorite races. Sawyer ran so good! He had an amazing finish and passed 6 people coming down the final stretch. The boys team got 3rd place overall!

Bonneville boys getting ready to start at Digger.

Sawyer's best finish of the season!

Tiger/Grizz:
The Tiger/Grizz Invitational is always held at Freeman Park, so the home field advantage is nice. This is one of the largest meets in the state. Sawyer grew his hair out so he could have a big afro for this race. I just wanted it over so he would cut his hair!

 Finishing strong at Tiger/Grizz!

Rigby:
Rigby is one of our favorite courses too. In the past, Sawyer has run really well there. He kept with tradition and had a great race.

I love these two guys! It makes me sad to think that I'm done watching Sawyer and Sam run cross country forever! :(

I love this picture of Sawyer leading the pack of Hillcrest runners :)!

Blackfoot:
This is one of Sawyer's favorite courses. It's flat and fast, and that makes for good times. He didn't run it this year. He was not feeling good. Bailey had the flu earlier in the week, so we were afraid he might have gotten it from her. Bummer!

Madison Invite:
This course has been Sawyer's least favorite of his career. It seems like every year the course defeats him. Twice he was sick, and once he had a really bad side ache. We told him this was his last chance to conquer this course, and he did! It wasn't his best race of the season, but a huge improvement over the last three years.

 Madison

This is how our boys cheer for the girls when they are running!

Ririe Dam:
This was Sawyer's first time running in Ririe. The weather was cold and windy, but he really liked the course. He had a great race!

I spy! Find all 10 runners!

 The whole boys team....and Brittany!

Sawyer starting his second loop in Ririe.

City/County:
This was their second time running at Freeman Park this year, which was good, because that's where they hold the district meet.

They generally don't get to serious until the gun goes off, but then it's all business :)!

 Starting the hills at City/County.

Seniors:
I was lucky enough to get pictures of all the seniors. I'm gonna miss these kids like crazy. It's been so fun for us to watch them run the past four years.

Senior boys: Kyle, Sam, Tyler, Curtis, Zakk, Kristjan, Sawyer, and Josh.

This is what they're usually like :)!

 Senior boys and girls.

Districts:
The Bonneville boys team has never won districts. We knew that this year they had a good shot at it, but that it was going to be close. THEY WON!!! Both the boys and the girls were DISTRICT CHAMPIONS! Good job BEES!

This is how they prepare for such a stressful race...they all sit around like nerds blasting music, and playing their Game Boys!

But, every once in awhile, when a really good song comes on, they'll take a break from their Game Boys to sing and dance :)! How could anyone not LOVE these guys?!?

In reality, despite all the fun they have, they do take their running pretty serious. Tamra took this picture of Sawyer taking a moment by himself. It melts my heart! What am I going to do without him next year?!?

 Team Prayer

Sawyer's last Bonneville team cheer. "What are we? Champions! How do we run? With heart! Where are we from? Bonneville! Want some? Get some! One, two, three BEES!"

 Bonneville Boys District Champions!

Both teams won districts! Go Bees!

It's been more than a great season...it's been a great four years! I wouldn't trade the experiences he's had, the lessons he's learned, the friends he's made, the team he's been a part of, or any of it, for the world. I'm so proud of him, and all of these awesome runners! Way to go Sawyer! Go BEES!
