Water Wednesday

Water Wednesday rolled around again! I couldn't take the girls anywhere this time, because I was busy getting ready for our Vegas adventure. The girls went to Madi's house and played in the pool. Dawson took pictures of them making a bowl.

Here comes the waves!

I LOVE this picture! The look on their faces says it all...we're goofy, and we know how to have a good time :)!

Chukars Fun!

The Chukars finally won a game that we were at! It was a nail biter too! I don't think the girl's even watched a combined total of 5 minutes of the game. They just wonder around acting goofy, searching for cute boys, and eating food. Sometimes I wonder if they even realize that there is a baseball game going on :)!

The girl's dragged poor Charlie Chukar up to the suit and made him hang out for awhile.  Poor bird had no idea what he was in for.

Later in the season the Chukar came up to the suite a lot. I think he started to like these crazy kids :)!

Girl's Camp

Bailey had a great time at Girl's Camp this year! She had amazing stake leaders, level leaders, youth leaders, and level 2 campers! The theme of camp was Black & White (there is no gray in the Lord's standards). They had plenty of spiritual experiences, and plenty of fun!

Monday: They set up camp. Bailey LOVED her tent girls. She was with Emily Russon, Amber Weeks, and Kalli Harris. That night they had FHE in their levels. Level 2 had theirs on the importance of family.
Tuesday: They spent most of Tuesday getting their certification done. That night they had skit night, which is always a blast at camp. Level 2 did a Spiritual Hunger Games skit.
Wednesday: Hike day! Bailey did the Monument hike. She loved it. They heard the story, and went into the wind caves. That night they had Spiritual Night. They sang songs, had a devotional, and watched Ephraim's Rescue.
Thursday: They had a Blind Faith Walk that was amazing, and had a huge impact on the girls. That night they separated into their own wards and had Bishop's Night. Then they went back to their levels for Testimony Meeting. Thursday was a spiritual high for most of them.
Friday: Packed up and headed home!

Hiking to the wind caves.

Monument hikers!
Bailey loved her youth leaders, but Rachel was her VERY favorite!
I had the chance to go up on Wednesday and hike Tablerock with the level 4 girls! We had an awesome group! Everyone made it to the top, and did it with great attitudes! Tablerock is a VERY challenging 14 mile hike (via Huckleberry). I'm so impressed with the determination I see in the girls each year that I hike this with them.

On top of Tablerock! I love this hike! It feels like you're on top of the world!
Awesome Tablerock hikers!
This is Bailey Webb. She made the mistake of falling asleep on the bus ride home :)!
I'm so grateful that Bailey has the opportunity to go to camp each year and have these experiences. She knows how important they are in her life. She had to make a tough choice this year. Girl's Camp and a running camp that she loves fell on the same week. As disappointed as she was, there was never even a question as to which one she would choose. She made the right choice, and her life was blessed because of it. Camp was fantastic!

Idaho Falls Half Marathon!

Bailey and I ran the Idaho Falls Half Marathon. We decided to do it only three weeks before the race, so we didn't have a lot of time to prepare. Our long runs consisted of a 7 miler, 9 miler, and an 11 miler.  Taking that into consideration, we were thrilled with how we did! Alison & Andy McCall, Brad Whitehead, and Jim Hopla also ran it. It was their first half marathon, and they all did awesome!
Getting ready to start!
Brad and Jim made shirts! So funny! These guys are hilarious!
Finally done with the downhill!
One mile to go!
We made it! We broke 2 hours!
Elder Varvel was there to congratulate us at the finish line :)!

Bailey got 2nd place! So proud of this hard working little munchkin!

Rexburg Rapids!

Bailey, Madi, and Emily decided to do a water Wednesday every other week over the summer. First, they went to Rigby Lake, and this time we went to Rexburg Rapids. It was tons of fun!

Elder Varvel catching some rays!
This picture cracks me up!

They are too cute for their own good!

The girls spent tons of time climbing the rock wall!

I can't wait to see where we end up in 2 weeks!

Backyard Campout...Kind of

Bailey and I had our annual backyard campout with the dogs. It didn't go quite as planned, but was still hilarious nonetheless. We camp with two labs, so we expect chaos each year, but this time the chaos went above and beyond. The dogs we expected, the HUGE storm we did not!

We got the tent set up in the middle of the day when they sky was still blue.  The dogs weren't very good helpers, but they sure were excited!
We roasted marshmallows in good weather!
We got our beds all set up on one side of the tent, and the dog's beds set up on the other.
They were so happy! This is probably their favorite night of the whole year!
It only took a few minutes to realize that our set up was not going to work. The dogs didn't want their own half of the tent! They wanted to be right with us, and to get them both to listen and get off my stinking bed was IMPOSSIBLE! Reeses was so comfy curled up right on top of my pillow and blanket! Oreo has no personal boundaries, so she thought she should sleep right on top of us! I thought Bailey was going to die laughing!
We redid the set up, and put their beds between us. That worked much better! We were reading and calming down when Mark came out to take pictures...hence my headlamp :)!

We were all settled in for a nice night, when the fun really got started. The rain started soft, so we thought we could just ride it out. Gradually it got harder and harder, the lightening got brighter and the thunder got louder. Even the power went out! One crack of thunder was so loud that it even freaked Reeses out! That's when we made a run for the house. It took us three trips to get all of our stuff in, and that was enough to get us soaked! We were busting up, and Mark just looked at us like we were nuts. He thinks we're crazy for sleeping out there with the dogs in the first place. We set up camp in the basement (minus the tent), and slept there for the night. At 3:00 in the morning I finally gave up and put the dogs in their kennels. Between Oreo sleeping on top of us, and Reese exploring in the middle of the night, sleep was not happening. It's crazy fun, and we can't wait to do it again next year!

Hurdles for Hope

We ran in the Hurdles for hope 5K. It was a super fun race with obstacles along the way. We had to run through a tire field, go over giant hurdles, climb over giant wooden A-frames with rope, go over stacked hay bales, run upstream in a river, jump fire, crawl through a mud bog, etc. It was a mess, and we loved it!

Here is our 'before' picture with the McCalls.
Bailey and Mark looking tough!

What a mess!
Me and Bailey!
This is how we cleaned off when we were finished.

RMMS XC Social

We had our first Rocky Mountain Middle School Cross Country Social of the summer! A few of our kids were out of town, but we still had a great turn out, and had loads of fun! We had an ice cream bar, and then played crazy games the rest of the time. It was just an 'ice breaker' evening, and a chance for all the kids to get to know each other better.

Playing stacks!
There is no better way to get to know your teammates than to sit on them!

The ball question game!
Um...wow!

Playing Medusa!

Musical Hula Hoops with a twist!

I love my team already! I can't wait until the season officially starts!
