Fire pit

We've wanted a built in fire pit in our backyard for a long time, so we finally decided to make one. I found a picture of what I wanted on Pinterest, and Mark went to work creating it. He did an amazing job. I LOVE it!

Here's the spot!
Prepping the area was a lot of work for him! He had to dig it out and level the area. The ground had a ton of rocks, so that made it slow going.
Reeses was the best helper! She was out there with him every step of the way :)!

Laying out the design.
Working on the pavers.
Almost done! He just needed to add the bench and tables!
The finished product! I think it's perfect! The only thing he has left to do is clean up the landscaping around it, and behind it. Bring on the s'mores!

Swan Valley Square Scoot

We went up to Swan Valley to run a 5K with a group of friends. It was a small race to benefit a local elementary school. It was very well organized, and totally worth our time. Nate Reese won the whole race, and Bailey was 3rd overall, and the first female! Woot! Woot! Way to represent! After the race, they fed us lunch, and had the world famous Swan Valley Square Ice Cream for all the runners. It was a fun morning, and we would for sure go back up for it next year.

First Day of 8th Grade!

Bailey started 8th grade this year. She was excited to be the oldest grade at school. It was kind of a weird day for me. I have taken back to school pictures for 15 years, and this was the first year that Sawyer wasn't here for them. It made me miss him like crazy. I remember how much I loved 8th grade though, so it made me excited for her. Good luck Bailey! Make it a great year!

Eastern Idaho State Fair

We spent a fun, and very wet day at the fair! Bailey and Mark performed on Labor Day. It was pouring rain, so we were afraid there wouldn't be anyone there. The stage and stands were covered, so the rain actually drew in a way bigger crowd than we expected! They did great! I thought it was their best performance yet! The songs they performed were
Mama's Broken Heart
Every Storm
Suds in the Bucket
True Colors
Black Horse and a Cherry Tree
Getting ready to start!
I love this picture, because you can see how hard it was raining.

Annie has never been to the fair, so after the performance we went straight to the food! The girls started off with giant corn dogs, and me and Mark had Bimbo burgers.

Food- round one
Next we tried deep fried Oreos, and a deep fried Milky Way. The milky way was really yummy!

Food- round two
To give our tummies a break, we went to see all the animals. Like always, me and Bailey wanted one of just about everything they had there :)!

After we looked at the animals, we had just enough room for funnel cake!

It was a great day, rain and all!
