Kayak: String & Leigh Lake

Is there anything better than kayaking in a lake at the base of the Tetons? Yes! Kayaking in two lakes at the base of the Tetons. I went with Jen and Rena to kayak in Grand Teton National Park. We kayaked through String lake, carried our kayaks about a quarter of a mile, and kayaked in Leigh Lake. So beautiful! I want to go back with Mark so bad!

Stopped on the shore to look at the animal tracks, and get in the water.

😂😂😂

I've already used my kayak so much this summer, and I love it! I can't wait to go back to all these places. I need about 6 additional weeks of summer to get in all the stuff I want to do.

Stadium of Fire

Happy 4th of July! We were glad the Stadium of Fire was back on again this year. I was also happy for a reason for the 6 of us to get to hang out together for the weekend.

Our first stop was the Art City Trolley for lunch!

The National Anthem, fly over, and people who parachuted in the flags were awesome this year! It's always my favorite part.

Stadium of Fire dancers.

David Archuletta made a quick appearance to sing with the choir.

Listening to Collin Raye brought back so many memories.

Nitro Circus stole the show! So intense!

This was Bailey trying to watch them. She kept having to cover her eyes. 😂

Lee Greenwood was great. It was an honor to hear him sing, 'I'm Proud To Be An American' at age 78.

Fireworks!

Her favorite part is always the after party while we wait for the traffic to clear out.

After everything was canceled last year, and we just went to the mountains and camped for a week during the 4th of July, now I'm torn. I loved camping, but I also love the Stadium of Fire. Maybe we'll have to start switching off years. Either way, it was a great 4th of July!

Kayak: Warm Slough

We decided to go Kayaking close to home on a Thursday night. We went up by Rexburg to Warm Slough. There was a freak storm that was blowing in, so we debated if we should get on the water. It seemed to move to the right of us, so we decided to give it a try. We ended up with a perfect evening, and one of the best sunsets I've ever seen.

Steph, Jonnae, and I waiting for Noah and Mark to drop off the truck where we were gonna end the float.

I freaking love him! I mean, how could I not.....just check out his outfit! 😂

The storm made the sky look so pretty!

Yay for my favorite adventure buddy!

Ahhhhhhh! 😍

We finished our float right as the sun went down.

Such a fun night! I can't wait to go again!

Kayak: Teton River

I was invited to go Kayak the Teton River with a group of fun ladies, so I jumped at the chance. So fun! The river is beautiful with the Tetons as the backdrop. Fran and Roger showed us the ropes, and then they were nice enough to drive us farther up the river and drop us all off at another spot so we could do a longer float back down to the truck. It was a great day with plenty of sunshine, great scenery, good conversation, lots of laughs, and it ended with yummy food!

So pretty! We saw an otter run along the shore and then dive into the water. That was cool!

We had a view of the Tetons for most of our float.

Parked the kayaks and played in the water for a minute.

Get a load of that back drop! I love those mountains!

We ended our day at Big Hole for some yummy fish tacos.

This was my first big adventure in my kayak, and I loved it. I see lots of fun ahead of me this summer!

New Kayaks

Mark and I had been considering selling our hard shelled 2 person kayak, and getting two single ones. We still have our blow up double one, so that would give us more options if one of us wanted to go without the other. Then a friend mentioned going to kayak the Teton River, and it was the push we needed to get it done! That weekend we went to the tent sale at Als, got two kayaks, and sold our giant one. Best decision ever! I have already used it so much!

Mark and I bought one kayak first, took it to Boat Launch Park (on a crazy windy day) to try it out. We both really liked it, so we went back for the other one.

My new toy!
