April Running

 Women's Runs:

The days are getting longer, so we've been able to venture a little farther out of town for our women's runs.

Trail Hollow
Wallace was the cutest!

Henry Creek
We had a big rainstorm that cleared up just for the hour we were running. Lots of fun mud though.

IFTR Early Morning Group Runs:

Our first early morning run of the month was down Henry Creek and part way up Grandpa Henry's.

The picture doesn't do it justice, but we had a great moon this morning.

All the crazies that like to run in the dark.

The next week we had a snow storm, but made it to the top of Grandpa Henry's Meatloaf, plus some exploring around the top.

That's only part of the mountain we climbed in the snow.

This is a big climb!

Made it to the top to visit Grandpa Henry.

Kepp's Ridge/Trail of Bones:

This is one of my favorite early morning runs. We had a clear day so we could watch the sun rise over the Tetons.

Trail of Bones/Dragon's Back:

My 100K training has started, so I'm logging lots of high mileage weeks. For the last early morning group run of April we met a little later in the morning, which worked out perfect for me. We did Trail of Bones and Dragon's Back, so I showed up early and ran 5 miles on the dirt road before the group run started, and then did 5 miles with the group.

Random Runs:

We have been running the Butte a lot to get ready for Spitfire. It's fun to be back on it with no snow.

Mark, Steph, and I had our long Saturday run at Wolf Flats. We started early and got a good sunrise over the river.

I love running this route in the spring.

We saw a couple bald eagles and a couple golden eagles.

Spitfire 25K:

Mark and I ran the Spitfire 25K the day after Sawyer's wedding. It's a hard early season race, but a good one to get our butts in shape for later in the season.

Law School

Bailey graduated from Boise State University in December with a degree in Criminal Justice. She has decided to further her education, and will be starting law school in the Fall. She will be going to University of Idaho, but staying in Boise at their small campus there. She is super excited and ready to tackle this next adventure in life! Good luck Bailey! We're super proud of you and all your hard work!

Ruby Bucket Retreat-Royally Flawsome

I spent a weekend scrapbooking at the Ruby Bucket Retreat. The theme this year was Royally Flawsome. Like usual, it was darling. I got to catch up with my scrapbook buddies, meet a few new friends, and get a ton of scrapbooking done. I think I ended up with 35 pages done.

Weekend With Family

It was so fun having family in town for the wedding. We took everyone out and showed them Cider Bend (our land). On Saturday we took a hike up Little Kelly's, and even ran into some snow. We ate lots of food, talked, the kids played endless games, and Clayton played his uke and they all sang. I love watching the cousins together. It doesn't happen often enough, but they sure have fun when it does.

We took a picture of our AZ peeps in the snow.

Hopefully we all can get together again soon. Someone else needs to get married! 😂

Wedding Day!

Sawyer and Amanda got married on April 16th in the Idaho Falls Temple! It was such a great day!

We had all six of us in the Temple for the first time, and it was awesome!

It's official, THEY'RE MARRIED!

Yay! Every time they called her Sister Varvel in the temple, Bailey and I would start giggling.

They were blessed with amazing family and friends on their special day!

Bailey is so excited to have a sister!

Love this!

So cute!

Sawyer and Amanda had a small luncheon/reception with their closest friends and family at the Barn on 1st Street. At first I was sad we were limiting the gathering, but it ended up being perfect, and I felt like it fit their personalities so well.

Aaron and cute little Jonas.

Family!

After lunch they did the traditional reception stuff. Andrew, Bailey, and the parents gave toasts. We watched a super cute video of Sawyer and Amanda. They had a father/daughter dance, and Sawyer and Amanda had their first dance as husband and wife. They cut and served their cake. The car was decorated, and everything was just great!

This is probably my favorite picture from the reception.

Their reaction when they saw the stuff in their car. Mason and Noah were responsible for most of it. 😂

They had a relaxing honeymoon at a cabin in Island Park, and now they're back and starting their life together. So fun!
