Sawyer's Engaged!

Sawyer got engaged! We love Amanda, and are so happy and excited for them. We can't wait for her to officially join our family, and for them to start their lives together. Amanda was leaving to spend the Christmas break with her parents in Boise. She made dinner for Sawyer the night before she left. Sawyer said he'd take care of dessert. He enlisted the help of Noah and Jonnae. While Sawyer and Amanda were inside having dinner, Noah and Jonnae were getting everything situated for the proposal. Sawyer said he was having dessert door dashed to them. That worked out perfectly, because Noah had been a door dasher, so he had the bag and everything. They dropped the bag off surrounded by lights, knocked on the door, and then went around the corner, out of sight. When Sawyer and Amanda answered the door, he pulled things out of the bag, like flowers, sparkling cider, dessert, and a ring! Yay! He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said YES! Whahoooo!

Best door dash ever!

Yay!

Noah captured the whole thing on film.

The date is April 16th in the Idaho Falls Temple. So exciting!

Christmas Fun!

I'm not gonna lie, Christmas wasn't quite the same this year. I just couldn't get into the season. Nothing felt like the holidays to me. I'm not sure if it's just the strangeness of the year in general, or because we didn't have Bailey with us this, but it just felt weird.

 Decorating the Tree:

Sawyer and Amanda helped decorate the tree this year.

Posers!

Amanda & Sawyer

I can't wait until we move, so we can fit the start on our tree again!

Boise Christmas:
Bailey and Mason spent Christmas in St. George with Mason's family this year. We went over to Boise the week before for Bailey's graduation, so we decided to celebrate Christmas with them while we were there. On Friday night, we had dinner at Goodwood Barbeque Company. Soooo good! Then we went back to their apartment to open presents.

Our Goodwood onion rings! 😋

I love their cute little Christmas tree.

It was fun doing an extra stocking this year. Mason is easy, cause I just filled it to the brim with candy, and he was totally happy! 😂

I still brought over her childhood stocking!

Opening presents!

WANT: A tent and double sleeping bag.

NEED: Canisters for the pantry. That's not very exciting, so I threw in the dip bowls they registered for during their wedding.

WEAR: New leggings (not pictures).
READ: A three month Audible subscription.

Bailey and all three sets of parents went in together and got Mason a really nice mountain bike. He wants to do a mountain triathlon in the near future.
I love what Bailey and Mason got for us!

Ta-da! I laughed so hard. My sweet puppies right on a blanket!

When we got home, we took a picture of it with the dogs, so we could see just how accurate it was. They even did sweet Oreos gray eyebrows. I love it so much!

Christmas:
Sawyer came over for Christmas Eve dinner, and then just spent the night, so he's be here on Christmas morning. We opened presents, had our traditional sticky buns and chocolate milk for breakfast, and then just relaxed for the rest of the day.

Ham for Christmas dinner!

You know how the first piece of pie is always the hardest to dish out? Yep, me too! 😂

The tree seemed so sad this year with only stuff for Sawyer and the pups under it.

They aren't allowed on the carpet, but their favorite day of the whole year is Christmas. They get so excited! It's too hard to get mad at them when they are so happy!

The loot from his stocking!

WANT: Punch cards to Ahhhhhsome Relaxation! We love that place.
He actually put a year supply of Sweeto Burrito for his want, but I wasn't about to get him that. I did get him a gift card for there though.

Reeses LOVES breaking the rules! She walked right into the living room and thought she needed to help Sawyer open all his presents.

When we told her to get out, she just laid down beside him, happy to be a part of the fun! 😂

NEED: A manscape razor.

After every couple presents, it was the pups turn to get one! They had LOTS of treats that morning!

WEAR: Lots of new Gym Shark clothes.

A new game from Bailey and Mason.

Sawyer got me a 3 month subscription to the Book of the Month Club. Super fun so far! He got Mark a couple months of Cairn surprise boxes coming in the mail.

She tries to be obedient, and does way better than Reeses of staying out of the living room. She just kept laying down and trying to slowly inch her way in. Look at that sweet face!

READ: I actually don't remember what books he got, but it was the next two in a series he has.

Modeling his Gym Shark clothes. Yay, nothing had to be returned!

The pups got tons of treats, and this cute new sloth friend. Each year she gets a new stuffed toy, and I have to try to sneak the old, disgusting one away.

Oreo likes the treats way more than the sloth.

And that was Christmas! We took the decorations down a couple days after, because we spent New Years in Arizona for Noah's wedding.

Strava Year in Review

Here are all my Strava running/hiking stats for 2020. It was definitely my biggest running year ever!

My goal started out at 1800 miles, then it went to 2020 (for the year), and this is where I ended up!

This is the one I worked all year to accomplish!

My elevation was INSANE this year!

A fun summary!

It was a GREAT year of hiking and running for us! I couldn't have asked for better!

I'm keeping track of my Strava different in 2021. I usually just put everything in as a run. This year I'm breaking it all up and entering it in as it really is. I think it will be fun to see it all broken down at the end of the year.
