Tablerock Sunrise Hike

The Young Women in our ward did a hike to Tablerock to watch the sun rise. We met at the church at 1:00 in the morning on Labor Day. We got to the trail head and started hiking around 3:30 am. We had such a cool experience! It rained on us at the very beginning. It was cold and cloudy, but we could still see the trail by the moon light. The first group of us made it to the top just as the sun was coming over the Grand Teton. It was gorgeous. We sat on top of the mountain waiting for the rest of the group to make it up. The girls did so great...one girl even made it all the way up, even though she had the flu! They were all very proud of the themselves, and realized they had accomplished a very hard thing.

At the trail head at 3:30 am, getting ready to start our hike.

The sun coming up over the Grand Teton.

Our whole group at the top.

Amazing! Miah and I are hiking it next year with my family. My mom said she's doing it on August 12th, the 2 year anniversary to finding out she had cancer. It'll take a miracle where she can barely walk now, but we're really excited to see her make it. She's planning on it taking her 11-12 hours. That's awesome thay your YW would be willing to do that so early!!! Awesome!!!!!
