Thanksgiving!

We had an AWESOME Thanksgiving Holiday. We kicked off the week with a blizzard warning! We were advised not to leave our houses because there would be white out conditions, and terrible roads. We didn't heed the warning....a new Harry Potter movie will trump a blizzard every time :)! We made it to the movie, and we all loved it. That night, I had an all night scrapbook get together with friends. Friends and scrap booking are two of my favorite things!
Thanksgiving day was nice and relaxing. We spent the day at home eating lots of yummy food, looking at black Friday adds, playing games, and relaxing. That's my kind of Thanksgiving. We're glad we decided not to travel like we had originally planned. The roads were terrible!

Nothing says Thanksgiving like ten fingers full of olives!

Bailey really wanted to get in on the black Friday excitement this year. I wouldn't take her to any of the really crazy stores like Wall-Mart. I didn't want her to get trampled. But, we did stand in line outside of Hastings in 10 degree weather for the good book sales. She's a girl after my own heart!

We kept our puzzle tradition alive. We start one every Thanksgiving, and the goal is to have it done by Christmas. Just like always, we had it done in a couple of days. None of us can walk away from it, so we stay up late every night working on it. I got my love of puzzles from my Grandpa. He used to always have one going in his attic. He gave us a lot of his old ones, and that's one of the ones we did this year. And yes, my family is a bunch of goobers! I have finally given up on even trying to get a good picture of them anymore. Someone (usually Sawyer) HAS to be pulling a face. Gotta love it when they all do it :)!

My friend Jenni gave me this fun recipe. You make your own ice cream with the snow. It's so quick, easy and yummy!
4-5 cups of clean snow
1 cup milk
1/2 t vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
Mix the milk, vanilla, and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Add the snow and stir until it looks like ice cream.

Miss Bonneville: Glitz and Glamour

Sawyer's friend Dani was participating in the Miss Bonneville Pageant. Each Miss Bonneville contestant had to pick a 'Little Miss' to mentor for a couple months. Dani picked Bailey. After lots of rehearsals and hard work, the day was finally here. The girls spent the whole day together getting ready. Bailey had so much fun with Dani! They both looked so beautiful, and did great! Bailey got to dance in the opening number, and also do the formal wear/poise part of the pageant with Dani. It was such a fun experience for her. Here's some pictures of their day.

In the car ready to start their day long adventure of getting ready.

First was the hair! A lady in Dani's ward did their hair, and it was soooo cute!

Bailey's turn!

Then it was back to Dani's house for makeup.

Bailey was really excited, because she did a lot of her makeup by herself. She has asked me about a hundred times since then if she can start wearing makeup. To her dismay, I'm sticking to my rule of 12 years old, so she has a whole year to wait.

Hair and makeup complete! They looked gorgeous!

Next, they went out to lunch, and then headed to the pageant.

There were 21 contestants. All the 'Little Miss' girls wore pink and black tutus with their Glitz and Glamour shirts in the opening number dance. The contestants wore pink and black and added zebra stripes. It was so cute!

This is right after the show. They did great, and had so much fun!

Dani looking beautiful! We love her!

Bailey looking beautiful, and way to grown up!

The contestants gave their 'Little Miss' girls a gift at the end of the show. Bailey was excited, because there was a little crown, and a giant diamond ring in the bag. Here she is being silly with her presents :)!
Thanks Dani, for giving Bailey such a fun opportunity, and making her feel so special!

CrAzzzZZzY hAiR!!!

We always tease Bailey and tell her she has a split personality. One minute she is sweet as can be, and then all of a sudden, it's like, LOOK OUT WORLD! So, for cRaZy HaIr dAy, we decided to give her hair a split personality too. She looked great!

Sweet and sassy!

The sassy side.

Cross Country 2010

Sawyer loves to run cross country, and the rest of us love to watch him run. I'm sad to say that the 2010 season has come to an end. We're going to miss the meets, and we already can't wait until track!
I would describe Sawyer's season as great, but with a little bit of frustration mixed in. He ran a lot over the summer, so he started the season off AWESOME! However, he didn't improve a lot along the way. That was frustrating for him, because he felt like he worked really hard in practice, and everyone else was improving each week, and he was staying the same. But despite those few frustrating meets, the season was great. The boys and girl's teams are both young, and did great. That means the next couple years should be really exciting to watch!

I LOVE this picture! The boys always have a prayer before each race. These are AWESOME kids, and I feel like this picture is a good representation of their character.

I can't wait until Cross Country 2011!!!

Happy Birthday Bailey Rae!

I remember on her last birthday, Bailey said she didn't want to get any older, because she loved being a kid. This year she was giddy with excitement about being a preteen! Oh the difference a year can make.

Bailey had tons of fun celebrating her 11th birthday. Here's a recap:
It all got underway when these cute people showed up at the door with a birthday cake and a Happy Birthday song! Thanks Jenni, Jaxson and Emersyn!

Then we took her and 3 good friends up to Rexburg to celebrate. We went to Evan's Hair School for pedicures, manicures, and facials. The girls loved it! Then it was off to the Cocoa Bean Cafe for a yummy treat.

Pedicures

Such pretty toes!

Manicures

Beautiful fingernails!

Bailey's first facial. She was skeptical about someone touching her face, but this ended up being her favorite part!

The Cocoa Bean Cafe

These cupcakes were the BEST!

Cheers!

When the party was over, Grammy and Papa came over to celebrate with her. We sent her on a fun scavenger hunt around the house to find her presents. She had tons of fun doing that! After that, Dani came over to make cookies with her. I hope she realizes how many people love her, and how lucky she is!

Her very best friend, Marlee, was here to spend the whole day with her. These two are like two little peas in a pod! I've always been grateful for my kids friends. But now that they are at a crucial age in life, I'm even more grateful that they both have AWESOME friends to surround themselves with.

Marlee gave Bailey these friendship bracelets. Super cute!

Happy Birthday Bailey! We love you tons and tons!
