Track-Senior Year

Track is always a big joke at Bonneville, so Bailey debated even doing it. In the end, she decided to do it for social reasons. It would be her last chance to run with some of the kids she loves. Socially, it was a fantastic season! Athletically is was a bigger joke then usual. The head coach does nothing....literally does NOTHING! Then they hired a distance coach that could only come once a week. What's the point in that? The kids were either signed up for the wrong events at each meet, or not signed up at all.  Bailey ran several races without a single coach there to even watch. I could go on and on, but let's just say the program (if you can even call it that) is in serious trouble. By the end of the season, Bailey just stopped going to practice, and started getting her workouts from me. I'm happy to say she did end the season with a career best time in the mile!

Madison JV Meet:
400m: 67
Shot Put: 18'6"

One of the varsity meets was canceled, so Bailey had an extra one she could run in. She decided to do the Madison JV meet, and try some new events.

She got 2nd in the 400, and loved it.

Bailey and Gabby!

She tried the shot put, and it was hilarious! She actually really liked it, and they have a good coach, so she wished she would have been doing it all year.

I told her to make sure she grunted when it was her turn. She did! :)

Here she is winning her heat of the 200m.

4X800 Relay: 10:37 (2:36)
1600m: 5:41 (Career PR)

The last track meet of her high school career, and she ran awesome! Perfect ending!

I'm gonna miss watching them run together so much!
The coaches didn't do a senior night, so Casie and I put together fun baskets for the 3 senior distance girls.

Kayla-Hannah-Bailey
I hope they all keep running! I can't see what great things they accomplish in the coming years!

She ended her season with a career best of 5:41 in the mile! I don't think her potential was even touched with this track program, but that was a perfect ending!

State Meet:
Bailey drove to Boise to watch Breanna run the 800m. She spent 4 hours driving there, watched the meet for a few hours, and drove the 4 hours home. She said there was no way she was going to miss Breanna run at state!

Bailey and Mariell

Yay Bre! She got a PR in the 800m and ran a 2:27.98. Totally worth the drive!
It's been so fun watching Bailey run! So many life lessons learned through high school running. We're gonna miss it a lot, but we're excited to see what she does on her own. Her marathon training is in full swing!
