Arizona Trip

The Wedding:

We spent the beginning of the year in Arizona for Noah and Jonnae's wedding! They were married on January 1st in Kim and Russ' backyard. Mark performed the ceremony, and everything was perfect. That night was their awesome reception. It was so refreshing to be around people at a fun event! It's been way too long, and I'm beyond ready for life to get back to normal again.

Yay!

Such a fun day!

The next day, Noah and Jonnae were sealed in the Gilbert Temple. It was so great to be back in a temple again too! Such a great weekend!

This is a dynamic power couple! So perfect for each other!

We took advantage of our time in Arizona with plenty of hikes and trail runs! It's so fun to run in different areas and landscapes.

San Tan Mountains:
Mark and I had to do one of our Bad Ideas of Winter events while we were there. We ran 11 miles in the beautiful San Tan mountains. This is a cool area. I only put a couple pictures, because I'm posting about this run when I make my Bad Ideas of Winter post.

Beautiful AZ sunrise.

That's a giant cactus!

Bull Dog Saddle & Pass Mountain Loop:
We saved a dog on this hike! Not far up the trail we heard a dog barking at us. We looked to the left, and there was a big black dog really trying to get our attention. We figured it was either stuck on a ledge, or maybe it's owner had fallen down the cliff. Mark, Scott, Chloe and I left the trail and started climbing up the side of the mountain toward it. The poor pup was indeed stuck! Scott climbed down to the ledge the dog was on. It made me so nervous, because it was not a great place to be. Another guy heard the dog barking, and got to us just in time for Scott to hand the dog up to him. We got the dog back to the trail, and by this time there was a crowd of people gathered around. We gave her a drink, pulled lots of cactus from her, and she got plenty of love and attention. She seemed so relieved to be off the ledge. A few phone calls later, and her owners were contacted. Yay! Great way to start the year.

The Wave Cave:
This was a fun hike! It was only a little over 3 miles, but it took us to the coolest cave.

Heading up!

We need a bit of practice on our heart making skills. 😂

South Mountain Preserve:
This was a fun trail run. We did a couple loops for a total of 10 miles. We had a few miles where we were jumping crevices, climbing boulders, sliding under rocks on our bellies, and getting lost. Good times!

Jam Sessions:
We had a few jam sessions at Scott and Amber's house while we were there. So fun!

So fun to have everyone together!

Even the newlyweds joined us before leaving on their honeymoon.

We also played a little corn hole!

Such a fun trip! We're heading back to AZ in February for a race, and I can't wait to be back in the warm sunshine again!
