Cider Bend-April

There hasn't been a lot going on at the farm in April. I've honestly been so focused on running, that the farm has been put a little bit on the back burner. I just need to make it through mid July, and my big races will be finished. Then hopefully we can get a few farm projects checked off the list. Our airbnb is starting to book up for summer though, so that's good.

 Chickens:

The chickens are all doing great. They are really starting to lay a ton of eggs.

Fern
We had some friends visit the farm, and they took this awesome picture of Fern. She is a beauty!

The chickens still love getting their bucket of alfalfa scraps every couple weeks.

They lay the prettiest eggs!

Tillie and Fern have been extra fun lately. They follow me around and demand to be held. 😆

Donkeys:

Clover and Willow are as cute as ever. The trails are drying out now, so I'm excited to start hiking and running with them again.

Cutest girls!

Cows:

Ace and Opal are so dirty and homeless looking! I desperately need to give them a bath, but they are a lot bigger and their horns are huge now, so I'm not sure how that's gonna go. I think I need to wait until it's hot enough, and just do it with the hose outside. I want clean fluffy cows again!

Goats:

I'm still on a roll with my goat walks. My goal is at least 10 walks a month, and I've stuck to it. I've even had to take them out in some crappy weather just to reach my goal. I cut it pretty close in April.

Dolly and Roxie

Cute little Ginger.

A visit from Ace on our walk.

Cats:

Floof and Michem are doing great.

Floof loves a good ride on the wash machine. 😂

We've have this really tall, friendly stray cat visit the farm quite a bit. It got in with the chickens, and ended up getting locked in the chicken run all night. I went out in the morning and was feeding the chickens and letting them out in the big area when I heard a meowing coming from under the coop. The cat was just hanging out with all the chickens. I felt bad, because it was a cold night, and it was just stuck in the run all night. I let it out and could tell it was hungry, so I brought it in the barn and fed it some of Stormy's cat food. Big mistake! The cat hasn't left the farm since, and now it lives here. 😒 It follows me EVERYWHERE I go! It jets into the barn when we open the door, it hangs out with the chickens, it goes in the donkey corral, etc. I don't mind it being here, but Stormy can't even eat in peace with it around. It eats it's food so fast then goes for hers. Stormy doesn't even show up for breakfast and dinner anymore. She just waits until she's hungry and meows at the back door of the house. I feed her on my back porch now, when the other cat isn't around so she can eat in peace.

When I brought the cat into the barn to feed it, Tillie and Fern were thrilled to have a friend over for breakfast. 😂

This is her just sitting outside my back door.

I call her socks, and she even comes on the goat walks with us.

😂😂😂

That's all the farm news we have for April!
