D.A.R.E Graduation

D.A.R.E
(Drug Abuse Resistance Education)
Bailey graduated from DARE last night! She loved the program, and learned a ton.

As part of the DARE program, all the 5th graders are issued a pop challenge. They aren't supposed to drink pop while in DARE. That is from Sept. until the end of Dec. Bailey completed the challenge, and was awarded a DARE lion :)!

She was also selected by her class to give a speech at the DARE graduation. She wrote her speech completely on her own. She stood up in front of a filled auditorium at Hillcrest and did an amazing job! We are very proud of her!

Two Peas in a Pod!

These two truly are two peas in a pod! They are the perfect best friends. Reeses doesn't listen to a word he says, and Sawyer is just fine with it :)! For those of you who know them both, you know just how crazy and fun loving they both are! They are NUTS, but oh how I love them both!

They both look so sweet and innocent in these pictures. Well, looks can be deceiving. It was so cold outside, that I just wanted to snap a few pictures, and get back inside before my hands fell off. Reeses would bury her face in the snow and come up looking like Santa Claus. When we tried to calm her down to wipe the snow off, she would go tearing across the yard at full speed, like we were out there to play tag! Sawyer just stood in the middle of the yard cracking up. I finally gave up and went inside. Mark came out later, and had better luck!

Sawyer's a Licensed Driver!

Sawyer passed his driving test (in the snow even)! He's excited to have his license, but I have mixed feelings about it. I'm really excited for him, and it will be nice not having to drive him everywhere, but it's a whole new kind of scary! I haven't actually even handed him the keys yet, and let him go somewhere by himself. I know I'm gonna have to eventually, but it just gives me major anxiety. He's very responsible, and he's a good driver, so I'm sure he'll be fine.

Congratulations Sawyer!
Oh, and anytime you want to slow down on the growing up, that would be great!

Happy New Year - 2011!

We held to tradition this year and spent New Years with our cRaZy friends, the Temples. We ate lots of yummy food, played games, and screamed and yelled at the stroke of midnight.

Getting ready for the count down!

Happy New Year!

I know this picture is very similar to the last one, but I couldn't resist putting them both on here. Sawyer is THE biggest dork EVER! Check out his face in both pictures! Haha, I love it! I had to delete some of his pictures, because he managed to distort his face so much, that it wasn't even suitable for public :)!

I love the start of a new year. And, YES, I do make resolutions. I usually do pretty good on them too. I made a lot last year, and I actually tackled about half of them. I have made some this year too, but they are of a more personal nature, so I won't be posting them. Here's to all of us having a happy, healthy New Year full of fun and laughs!

Sledding!

Whahoo...sledding! We weren't very excited about the single digit temperatures, BUT we were excited about the fresh snow. We hooked the kids up to the back of the car and pulled them around the neighborhood. It only took one lap before we popped the first tube. I guess it wasn't deep enough yet. I was in the back of the car laughing my head off because once we got going the snow sprayed all over Bailey. She couldn't see a thing! Then we headed to a very cold Ucon Pit! There was hardly anyone there, so we got the pick of the hill.

This is what they looked like when we started around the neighborhood.

This is what they looked like when we finished!

Sawyer wiped out pretty good, and I was at the bottom of the hill with the camera. Haha I love this! Me and Bailey crashed pretty good too! Someone had tried to build a small snowman at the bottom of the hill. Bailey hit it, and flew off her tube. Mark knocked it down the best he could, but there was still a little bit of it left. The boys headed back to the car, and me and Bailey did one more run down. I was heading straight for the snowball. Right before I hit it, my tube spun around, so I was backwards. I hit it going super fast, and my tube stopped, and popped, but I kept going. I landed pretty hard on my back. Bailey wasn't sure if she should run to my rescue, or die laughing. She did a little of both :)! Hilarious...I wish we would have had the video camera going.

When we got back in the car, Bailey took her stuff off, and this was the result. Wow!
