Mount Timpanogos Hike

We hiked Mount Timpanogos a couple years ago while Sawyer was on his mission and loved it. We went back and hiked it again with him. It has everything that makes a hike great...forest, meadows, wild flowers, scrambling over rocks, beautiful views, animals, a challenge, etc... We covered 15 miles. We had great weather, and a great day!

The hike starts out climbing in a beautiful wooded area with lots of small water crossings.
About half way up, there are a couple signs that point the way to a 'toilet' in a secluded area of trees. Bailey was excited to have an actual bathroom, since she always has to pee. We followed the signs and cracked up at what we found!
Hahaha! Talk about a bathroom with a view! She decided to rough it behind some bushes instead!
Once we hiked out of the trees, we had a beautiful view of the Timpanogos summit. It was fun to see this view of where we were headed.

The wild flowers were in full bloom and looked so pretty! Mason was picking Bailey a bouquet the whole way up! :)
Starting the switchbacks to get to the saddle.
We saw lots of mountain goats with babies.
Once we reached the saddle, we had a great view of the Utah valley. When we hiked this a couple years ago, we were in the clouds, so we missed out on this view.

Heading towards the final climb.
Altitude doesn't usually affect me, but at this point I was feeling light headed every once in a while.
Almost to the top!
We made it! There is a hut at the top where you can take and leave messages.
Bailey left her business card in the mailbox.
Bailey and Mason signing the hut.

Mark signing the hut.
We put the wrong date! We were actually there on the 9th. We have way too much fun over summer to keep track of what the date is!
Sawyer leaving his mark on the top of the world!

On the top!
This is a view of the way we came up. So pretty!
Mason face timing his sister from the top.

It was cold and windy, so we didn't stay at the top for very long.
Heading back down.
Bailey was so funny to hike behind. She wasn't real sure of herself on some of the rocky parts. The sound effects she was making were hilarious!
This is the coolest picture!
Pictures with the mountain goats!
Isn't he cute! He matched the blue wild flowers!
I got photo bombed trying to take pictures of the scenery!
We made it!
If we do this hike again in a couple of years, we want to try it from the opposite direction, coming up the Provo Canyon side.
