March Snowshoeing!

We got two final snowshoe adventures in for the season. I'm sad that these adventures are ending for the year, but I'm so excited to start trail running and hiking again!

Harriman Park:
While the snow was rapidly melting off our grass, Island Park got hammered with snow. I mean seriously hammered! Crazy amounts of snow fell within a couple days. Roads were closed, school was closed, and people were trapped in cabins for days, running out of food! The pictures we saw were crazy! As soon as things calmed down up there, and roads were opened back up, we headed up to Harriman Park so we could see all the snow. It was nuts! We did a hard trail with lots of uphill, and we had to cut a lot of it ourselves. It was a good, challenging day!

The snow on the side of the road was almost over Mark's head!

At the top of the mountain overlooking String Lake.

This is usually super high! It's crazy that Mark could touch it! They have a big, beautiful Harriman Park sign at the entrance to the park, and the week after we were there it snapped in half and collapsed from the weight of the snow.

Palisades:
Our last trip was to Lower Palisades. We had promised a couple girls from our BYU-I ward that we would take them snowshoeing, but then Mark got released and called as a bishop in a new ward. We called them up and asked if they still wanted to go. They were super excited about it! We brought Noah with us too! Bailey was home for spring break, so it was an adventure with college kids. Noah and the girls all came down and spent the night on Friday night, so we could get an early start (the early start is why Sawyer isn't with us). We had lots of fun! A perfect hike to end the season!

Our whole crew: Noah, Mark, Lesa, Bailey, Avery, Tricia.

Avery and Lisa! We're gonna miss these cute girls!

Cute cousins! We love having Noah up here for school!
A beautiful place on a beautiful day!
Stopping at the lower lake for a snack.

And that's a wrap! This concludes our snowshoeing until next winter! Bring on the trail runs!
