December Adventures

Not a lot of running in December, because we took some time off for the holidays, but the ones we did do were great!

Palisades:

Perfect kickoff to our December! This trail is always magical in the winter. Steve had a long run, so Mark and I joined him for 15 miles of it. We aren't in shape for that, especially in the snow, but it was a blast.

The Lower Lake

The Upper Lake

Along the upper lake was so pretty!

😍😍😍

Man I love this trail!

The Greenbelt:

We did one of our Tuesday night run around the greenbelt with Steph because it was all lit up for Christmas.

Rigby CHRISTMAS Run:

David organized for some of the Rigby runners to spell CHRISTMAS again this year. Fun morning making Strava art.

Women's Run:

Lights and Avalanche Training

We did a short run around the river looking at Christmas lights, and ended at the Colonial Theater for an avalanche course. I really enjoyed the night, and learned a lot!

We had a good group show up for the avalanche training.

Little Kelly's:

Joyce and I had a good snow hike up Little Kelly's.

Thursday Night Group Run:

Charles organized a new Thursday night group run around the river. It's a 'no drop' run for all abilities. We went to the first one, and it was great.

Cress Creek Road:

I went on a much needed walk with Joyce. We stuck to the road by Cress Creek for 6 miles.

There are always eagles down along the river. They are a lot easier to find in the winter.

The Butte:

I joined Ashley, Lindsey, and Brady for a morning run on the Butte. Nothing like a Butte run to let you know how out of shape you've let yourself get. 😅

Half Ass Runs:

We've been running the donkeys! It's seriously the best! I'll just give a sneak peak here, and write more about it on my farm post for December.

Their first run was almost 2.5 miles. They LOVED it! Look how cute and happy they are in the video.

Their second run was 3.25 miles!

We trailered them to Wolf Flats and ran them 4 miles! They were pooped by the end of this one, so we'll stick to 3 miles through winter, and ramp it up in the spring when we have access to trails.

Strava 2023 Results:

Here is a Strava summary of my running in 2023. Not too shabby!
