Lunch with the Ladies

My friend Becky lost her 17 year old son last month to suicide. Such a heartbreaking thing to watch her endure. Once the funeral was over, and things calmed down for her a little bit, we took her to lunch. She is an inspiration to me on how to handle adversity in your life. I wanted this to have a permanent place on my blog for a couple reasons. The first one is because it was so amazing to watch our running community, once again, rally around one of our own, in their time of need. I brag about my running peeps all the time, and they deserve it! Ashley and Ashlee, with the direction of Jeff, created another Circles of Love event for the community, to raise money for Becky's family, and to bring people in the community together to let them know they aren't alone in their grief. This is the third Circles of Love event so far, and each time it renews my faith in humanity. The second reason I wanted this picture on my blog is because these are my running ladies. I've shared so many miles with them, and they build me up and make me better in every way. I love women who support and encourage other women. We push each other to be better runners and better people. And most important, we NEVER see each other in normal clothes, so that was especially fun. 😆
