More Songs

Bailey did 2 more songs last night. It's so fun watching her, Seth, and Ralph put the songs together. These two guys will pick up a guitar, and just start adding all this cool stuff to the songs. They have amazing talent.

Bailey Recorded Songs!

Bailey has an awesome guitar teacher! He arranged for her to be able to record 6 songs. He has a friend that has all the equipment in his basement. We went over on Wednesday night, and they got 3 of the 6 songs done. It was so much fun for her, and really cool for us to watch. It's a really neat process. We are excited for her to go do the last 3 songs. It will be great to have a CD of her, so when she's older she can always remember what her voice was like at age 10.

This is right when she started. She was really nervous at first, but after the first song, she relaxed a lot.

She loved the headphones :)!

Click below to hear a sneak peak of her songs. This one is American Honey. I love this song, and I love her cute little voice. It makes me smile!

Scrapbook USA Trip

They closed the Roberts Craft in Idaho Falls, so now we don't have a good place to go for scrapbook supplies. Jenni, Kassie, and I planned a trip to Utah to do some scrapbook shopping. We arranged our trip so that we'd be down there for the Scrapbook USA Expo. The expo itself wasn't that exciting, but that didn't stop us from having a good time.

Road trip!

Yummy food is a major part of our Utah trips!

We paid extra at the expo to have a place to crop from 6:00 to midnight. They basically put the 3 of us in a room with no one else! Jenni took advantage of our own private room to dance on the tables :)! They were supposed to provide refreshments as well. See that bucket on the table? It was filled with candy, and that was the 'refreshments'. We were mad, so we dumped all the candy in our purses and took it with us when we left. We thought we were pretty funny :)!

I wanted to stock up on cardstock while we were at Roberts. I got 1 of every color. Little did I know, they had to scan each separate one when I checked out. They said I might have had the longest receipt ever! It touched the ground.

We stopped at ShopKo to get treats to bring home to our kids. Here's a picture of us getting a little distracted. We thought those masks were so funny!

We ended our trip by getting awesome pedicures.

Pretty toes!

First Day of School!

5th Grade
This past Monday, Bailey had her first day of 5th grade. She was so excited for school to get started again. She was excited to see all her friends, get back into a routine, and learn. She loves to learn, and she loves a challenge. I hope she gets a lot of both this year.

Sawyer started his sophomore year on Tuesday. He was not quite as excited. He is not ready for the classes and homework at all! He IS excited for the socializing, and cross country though.
I guess Sawyer has finally hit the age where first day of school pictures aren't 'cool' anymore. They are normally excited to get them done, but Sawyer just stood there tolerating me, and rolling his eyes. Oh the joy of a teenager!

Notice Bailey in the window of the picture. At least she still gets excited to have her picture taken...even if it's not her turn!

I can't believe my kids are growing up so fast! I hope they have wonderful school years! Good luck guys :)!

Mesa Falls Half Marathon!

SHE DID IT!!!
Bailey ran the Mesa Falls Half Marathon at age 10! She set a goal at the beginning of the summer that she wanted to run 10 miles. I can honestly say, I wasn't sure that was reasonable. After watching her run a 10K, and the Bone and Back Relay, I realized it was VERY reasonable. I figured if she could run 10 miles, she should just give the half marathon a try. She is one determined little girl! She worked so hard all summer long. When most kids were sleeping in over the summer break, she was getting up early and running. She struggled with her feet on our last few long training runs, and I knew that was going to be an issue.
Race day finally came, and she was ready! She did AWESOME! She struggled a little bit between miles 7 and 10. She was tired and her feet were really hurting. I told her that she would have to just work through the pain, because there was nothing we could do about it at that point. I tried to distract her by talking about what she was gonna wear on the first day of school, and how we were going to do her hair. Before we new it, we were at mile 11! She perked right up. She realized she was almost done, and she finished strong. She even made me and Kassie run fast down the final stretch. I am so proud of her! When she sets her mind to something, she goes for it 100%. That's one of the things I love the most about her. This is an accomplishment she can be proud of forever!

Bailey and Kassie at the starting line.
This was Kassie's first half marathon, and she did great too!
This was right around mile 10. She sure looks happy for the camera, but her feet were really hurting at this point.

She did it!

I have run by myself for years, and I'm so happy that now I have 2 great running partners.

Every finisher get a huckleberry milkshake. She sure did earn every bite of hers!
