Panther Cross Country

Bailey had an AWESOME cross country season this year! It was fun for her to 'officially' run for Rocky Mountain.

They kicked off the season at the Pocatello Challenge. This is a tough course, with lots of dusty hills.  She ran great, and got 3rd place!

 Great start in Pocatello!

 Here's the shirt she won.

The Digger Invite is a fun race! We like the ones where we can see the runners several times during the race. This was one of her best finishes!

Rounding the corner to the finish line.

She got 5th place out of 102 girls!

She's happy to have a medal instead of a shirt :)!

The Tiger/Grizz Invite is one of the biggest meets in Idaho.

Bailey finished 15th out of 175 runners!

She ran great at the Rigby meet! Up to this point, it's the most gutsy we have seen her run.

Rocky Mountain girls getting ready to run in Rigby.

She got 4th out of 67 runners in Rigby!

The Blackfoot Invite was probably her best race of the season! She had the stomach flu earlier in the week, so we were a little nervous. She ran a very smart race. She focused on the middle of the race and it totally paid off. Then, she had an AMAZING finish!

 Goofy girls in Blackfoot!

This is the last 400 meters of the race. She passed one of the girls and got 3rd out of 120 runners. She was  a half second away from 2nd.

She ran hard and totally earned this medal!

The Madison meet was the only race she didn't love last year. She was determined to conquer this course, and she did! Even with the top group of girls going the wrong way and having to back track a little, she still got 6th place.

 Finishing at Madison.

Bailey, Alicia, Emma, and Jessiny had a late night after the Madison Invite. Lots of pixie sticks makes for some crazy and very hyper girls!

The Ririe Invite was a new course for her. This was her last race of the season, and it got off to a frustrating start. The course was very poorly marked, so the whole group went the wrong way. Once they got them turned around, all the runners were now flipped. However far you were out front, that's how far you were now behind! I guess in this race it didn't benefit her to get a good start. I think it ended up helping her. She was so mad, that she ran her heart out to regain her position.

She had a great recovery, and worked her way back up to a 4th pace finish out of 59 girls!

Since this was the last race of her season, that meant this was their last cross country race together...EVER! I was so sad I wanted to cry :(!

Bailey, Alex, and Coen with their medals.

She had a great season, and we had a great time watching her. She deserved all the success she had, because she worked so hard and gave it her all at practice. Cross country is definitely teaching her that you get out of something what you are willing to put into it. Great job Bailey!
