Australia!

Sawyer and his cousin, Noah took a trip to Australia! Noah has always been a big fan of Steve Irwin (the crocodile hunter), and has had a dream of going to the Australia Zoo. He decided he was going to go, even if he had to go by himself. Sawyer decided to go with him! What a fun adventure they had!
They drove 14 hours from Idaho Falls to San Diego. They stayed the night with some family friends of Noah's, then took a train up to LA for their flight. They had a 12 hour flight to New Zealand, and then had a 2 hour layover there. After that, they finished with a 3 hour flight to Australia. I was worried about them driving in Australia, because the steering wheel is on the opposite side of the car, and they drive on the opposite side of the road, but they figured it out.

So much traveling!

Hahaha! I'm glad they figured out the driving!

Their first, and favorite day, was the Australia Zoo! They loved it, and wanted to spend another day there, but they had lots of other things to do. Some of the highlights were holding koala bears, feeding kangaroos, seeing a baby tiger getting walked around the zoo on a leash, and the crocodile show.
Yay!

I love this picture! First, I love that Noah is jumping with someone who he has always admired, and second, I love that he was determined to make one of his life's dreams come true!

The Irwin family! The boys were hoping to get a glimpse of Bindi while they were there.

I'm so jealous!

A giant tortoise!

My favorite picture from the trip! So cute!

Hahahaha!

This is a dingo!

The second day they toured Brisbane. The rode on the Wheel of Brisbane, and walked around the city. They even found the temple! They also drove to Gold Coast and walked around that city for awhile. They went to Surfer's Paradise beach, which is a beach right in the town of Gold Coast.

The third day they went to Noosa National Park and took an awesome hike. They hiked along the coast through rain forests, and along beautiful beaches. The water was so blue!

On their last day they went to church, and saw the Australian Jesus playing the piano. Then they went to Springbrook National Park. They did another awesome hike to a waterfall, and then did a final hike in the evening to a cave where they could see glow worms all over the walls. So cool!

Here is a video of the waterfall they hiked to.

They wished they had more time to spend there, but they had to get back to work and school. They are both planning on a return trip someday. They had a long journey back to Idaho! Australia is a day ahead of us, so they left Australia, traveled for over 15 hours, and landed in the US at the same time they had left the day before. So, basically they are time travelers. I'm super glad Sawyer and Noah were able to have such a great time. I love to see people living life to the fullest, especially when it's my family.
