Rainy Creek Camping

We had the best weekend camping! So fun! We left early Friday morning and got the perfect spot at Rainy Creek. It was all 6 of us (puppies included), with no cell service, and it was great! Once we got our camp set up, we had lunch, and then had a horse shoe tournament. It was hilarious! Mark is the only one who can score any points! When one of us played against him, we would play to 11, and none of us scored any points against him. Then when Sawyer, Bailey, and I played each other, we would say whoever scored the first point would win. Hahaha! They games still took a long time!

After horseshoes, Mark, Bailey, and I took the dogs exploring. We went up the Rainy Creek trail and then veered right up the most gorgeous canyon. We loved the hike! There were butterflies EVERYWHERE! We had a lot of creek crossings, so that was fun, and we saw a few snakes.

We did dinner around the fire, and then played games in the trailer until bed. We had a huge thunder storm that night! Sawyer wanted to get a storm so bad, and we ended up with a big one!

The next morning Mark and Bailey got up early and went and ran their long training run at Palisades. They had a great run. Sawyer and I hung out at camp reading, and untangling Reeses a million times! When they got back, we had lunch, and then Mark and I took the dogs on another exploring adventure. We played games in the trailer, and then Mark and I hiked straight up the mountain behind our camp. Then we packed up and went home. I can't wait until we can all go again!

The dogs were so excited to be going camping, that they weren't very fun for the kids to ride with in the backseat! Oreo was in Sawyer's face a lot, just being as happy as can be. She's too stinkin' cute to get mad at. :)

Our perfect campsite! This picture was taken from the creek.

Lunch time!

Reeses loved camping with the kids!

Horseshoe pro!

She was hilarious!

She was dang funny!

Mark and Bailey

Sawyer

He got a ringer!

I shouldn't make fun of Bailey, because I wasn't much better.

They had so much fun watching us play horseshoes.

So happy!

Lots of water crossings on our hike.

Going up the beautiful canyon.

The clouds looked really cool the whole time we were camping.

Now that's a dandelion!

Making a big wish!

We got sprinkled on a little bit.

Hot dogs around the fire!

I went in the bathroom, and Oreo stared at the door just like this until I came back out. :)

The kids loved the trailer.

Palisades run!

They said the lakes looked so blue!

Sawyer got a lot of relaxing done on the trip.

Reeses is a pain in the butt to camp with. She gets herself tangled up every 30 seconds. This one was particularly funny. I'm not even sure how she did it, but it took both me and Sawyer to get her undone. Her head was stuck between two branches, the metal part of her leash had a stick wedged in it, and her back legs were so stuck that I had to pull up on the branch while Sawyer lifted her back end over the bottom branch. We were laughing so hard!

We had her half way undone at this point. She's a special little camper!

Our second hike with the pups.

That little spot in the middle of the picture is our campsite. We took this picture from half way up the mountain Mark and I climbed up.

Almost to the top!

It was hot and hard! There's our trailer!

On the way back down.
We can't wait to go again!
