Boise Trip/Sawyer's Birthday

We needed to pick Bailey up from school the day before Sawyer's birthday. We decided to spend the night and celebrate Sawyer's birthday in Boise. We drove over on Friday morning, loaded up all of Bailey's stuff, checked her out of her dorm room, and just like that, she was done with her first year of college! Sawyer picked Kyoto Japanese Steak House for his birthday dinner. Yummy place! After we ate, we went to the coolest 80s arcade for a couple hours. We rounded out the night with dessert at Kneaders, and then headed to our hotel. We got up Saturday morning to do our long run in the Boise foothills. They have a really great trail system over there. Mark and I had a 12 miler, and we ran to the top of the foothills and could see all of Boise and the surrounding areas. It was a really great trail. Bailey didn't have to go as far as us, and on her way back down the trail, a dog got excited to see her, ran between her legs, and she biffed it pretty hard. Cracked her phone screen, and cut open her knee pretty good. I fell twice on this same trail a few weeks earlier when I was there to visit Bailey. It must be unlucky for us. Bailey left from the trailhead to start driving home. The rest of us went back to the hotel to clean up before we headed home. We stopped to eat in Twin Falls on the way home, so we took a quick detour to see the falls. I wish we would have gone just a few weeks earlier. I saw pictures of the falls just raging! When we got home that afternoon, we had a little birthday celebration for Sawyer. He had his favorite cake, and got his presents. I can't believe I have a 24 year old! Holy smokes!

Sawyer and Kaija on the BSU campus!

Birthday dinner at Kyotos.

The rad arcade!

We had a Pole Position tournament. Bailey got addicted to this game! She played over and over again.

Sawyer was the entertainment for the car ride.

Happy 24th birthday Sawyer!

Bailey got him this fun (and very geeky) shirt.

A new weight belt, wrist guards, and Duluth Trading Company jeans from us.
