Teton Bike Ride

Bailey had her longest training ride scheduled for the day we got back from the Stadium of Fire. As soon as we got home, Mark and Bailey ate lunch and headed to Jackson so they could do the Jackson the Jenny Lake bike ride. They rode 46 miles, and that's as long as she'll go before her half ironman. I think she has to go 56 miles on the bike in the actual event.
I'm so proud of her! When she decided to do this triathlon, she had never really biked, and was pretty much afraid of it. It wasn't that long ago that we took her down to Snake River Landing to try out my road bike, and she had no clue what she was doing. She couldn't even take her hands off the handle bars to get a drink. Watching her, Mark and I were wondering how in the world she was going to pull this off. Now she looks like a pro, likes biking, and can go 46 miles! She did take a bad fall the first time she tried to use her clips, and she hasn't been able to swim (front crawl) since then. She messed up her upper arm and shoulder pretty good. Even through that, she's kept a positive attitude and said she'll just do the beat she can. Please say a little prayer for her. With her arm the way it is, she's just gonna have to survive the swim and try to make the cut off time. She's a hard working, determined little thing, so I would hate to see an injury keep her from reaching this goal.

This was their biking view! Right along the base of the Tetons!

Beautiful ride!

She totally looks like she knows what she's doing. She's come a long way in a short amount of time.

Dad of the year! He drove a lot of hours this day, and then add a 46 mile ride on top of that, and he was pretty tired.
