Mount Timpanogos

Mark and I spent a fun weekend in Utah. We went down to watch Bailey run a marathon. Mark was off that Friday, so we decided to go down a day early to hike Mount Timpanogos, and explore some of the surrounding trails. We had a very eventful day on the mountain.

We started in the dark and watched a pretty, and very smoky, sunrise on the way up.

This is such a fun trail!

We ended up seeing 14 deer on the trail. This was one of the first ones we saw. There was a mamma, with two cute babies.

We're climbing that!

Love this hike!

This was a big heard of deer. There were about 7-8 of them watching us over the rise.

Getting closer! Almost ready to start up the switchbacks.

We were looking at goats through Mark's monocular on the way up. Little did we know how much fun we'd have with them once we got to the saddle. We saw between 80-100 mountain goats, and got up close and personal with a few of them. It was so cool!

We followed a group on them right up the trail.

There are about 10 goats in this picture, but a little ways up the trail, a few groups of them came together, and there were about 25 of them that grouped up right at the narrowest, steepest part of the climb.

This one was my favorite. He turned around and cheesed for a picture.

We had to climb up right where they were all standing. The hikers were just standing around waiting to go up or down, but the goats weren't in any big hurry to move. They were even knocking rocks down on us.

This one trotted right behind Mark up the trail. ๐Ÿ˜‚

They were seriously EVERYWHERE! Each time we rounded a corner, there would be more.

Hahaha, apparently I think it's a dog!

We made it past most of the goats, and were heading to the top.

We made it!

11,700 feet!

On the peak!

Found more goats on the way down.

I'm going back down the part where all the goats were hanging out when we were on our way up.

We made it back to the saddle, and then went the other direction toward Bomber Peak.

Cool Trail!

Mount Timp. behind me.

Mark got a little stressed on this trail. We were side hilling from way high up, and he wasn't a fan. ๐Ÿ˜‚

We found so many more goats on our way to Bomber Peak!

Bomber Peak!

I had a signal at the top, so I was making videos for Bailey along the way.

Just chillin'

After Bomber Peak, we headed to Emerald Lake.

A fun cairn on the way to the lake.

Emerald Lake

Leaving Emerald Lake. Bomber Peak in the  background.

We took the 'toilet lookout' detour. Mark was watching the goats.

Our final detour off the main trail was to Scout Falls.

Such a fun day on the trails!
