BSU-Semester 1

Bailey completed and LOVED her first semester at Boise State! It couldn't have gone any better! She had great roommates, made great friends, loved some classes, hated others, got involved with several organizations, studied her butt off, became a die hard BSU football fan, took full advantage of living on the beautiful river, became a big fan of farmer's markets, had a few opportunities to perform with her guitar, loved the seasons, made the library her second home, kept a perfect GPA, called her mama multiple times a day, and realized she definitely picked the right college to attend! Whew, there is a lot more too, but I'll just cover some of the highlights of her first semester of college.

Her cute dorm room! She lived in Taylor Hall in a private room with 7 other girls in her apartment.
She had great roommates! Hailey, Paige, Angie, Natalie, Santiago (not a roommate), Bailey, Allie. The two roommates that aren't in this picture are both named Sarah. She loves them all!

She is part of the Honor's College at Boise State, and during welcome week, she decided to apply to be the freshman rep of the Honor's Student Association. This made her a lot more busy, but it also got her involved and has been a great experience for her. They were in charge of a lot of stuff! A few examples are homecoming week, the honor's banquet, 'nerds at night', and they are currently getting a scholarship program started.

Bailey never liked football games in high school, but became a die hard football fan for Boise State. She LOVED the games, and even sat through one in the pouring rain, and snow!

She made it on ESPN!

Here's Bailey's 5 seconds of fame on ESPN!

She went to Eagle Island to watch all her Bonneville teammates run at Bob Firman. It was fun for her to see everyone again!

Bailey and Sydnie at Freak Alley in downtown Boise. Bailey loved going downtown on Saturdays to the Farmer's Market.

She had a few opportunities to perform at the High Note Cafe. She walked there, and then didn't get out until after dark. She had a scary experience walking home the first time, and a creepy guy asking the waitress way too many questions about her once, so she stopped performing part way through the semester.
Boise State had a 'Parent's Week' part way through the semester. They were basically doing all the stuff we did with her at orientation, so we decided to skip it and go for Homecoming instead. Hailey lives in Boise, so her parents took Hailey, Bailey, and Max out to dinner, and shopping for parent's week. I'm so glad she has people over there who love her, and step in as her parents when we can't be there.
Boise trip for Homecoming! I did a whole separate blog post about our trip over there.

We went to visit her for her birthday and the BSU vs BYU homecoming game. She mentioned that she was running low on snacks, so this is what I brought her. Hahaha, we were laughing so hard! I may have gotten a touch carried away.

Bailey LOVED the fall in Boise! She could look right out her dorm window and see the trees changing around the river. Campus looked beautiful, she ate a lot of soup, drank hot chocolate, and thought life was grand! :)

This is where she got to run everyday! So beautiful in the fall!
Bailey was sad to see fall go, but then she saw how beautiful the river was in the winter too. This picture is taken in the exact same place as the one above! It's crazy what a few weeks can do!
She decorated her door for Halloween :)!

Fun snow run!

So pretty!
Roommates and friends decorating Christmas cookies!
Tree lighting ceremony before Christmas break!
They had reindeer on campus! Natalie, Bailey, and Allie.

Bailey tried to keep her tradition of going to the Temple each week. She went to the Boise Temple, and took a trip with Sydnie to the new Meridian Temple.
She did lots of other fun stuff that I don't have pictures of. She was the co-president of the Hall Council (on campus housing) and planned lots of great events for students living on campus. She was super busy the whole semester, but somehow managed to balance her life pretty well. She amazed me all the time in her youth, and now she is continuing to amaze me as a young adult. Even though she's only attended college for one semester, she will be heading back as a junior. She had a lot of AP classes, and dual credit courses in high school. She knows her time at Boise State is shorter than most, so she wants to make the most of it.
