December Snowshoe Adventures

Yay, It's finally snowshoe season!

Taggart & Bradley Lakes:
For our first snowshoe adventure of the season, we went to Grand Teton Park to snowshoe to Taggart and Bradly Lakes. Mark and I did this hike over the summer and loved it, and it's one of the few places that has winter access in the park. So pretty!

You know it's gonna be a good day when you are starting off at the base of the Tetons.

Our first glimpse of Taggart Lake behind us.

We came at the perfect time of year. The lakes weren't completely frozen yet, so we could still see a little bit of water.

Taggart Lake selfie.

So pretty! It's amazing how it looks so different in the different seasons.

The trees on the way to Bradly Lake looked so cool!

Our snowshoes.

Looking across Bradley Lake. We could see fish swimming under the ice.

The pretty frosted trees between the lakes.

Mine and Mark's snow angels.
Mesa Falls:
We planned a snowshoe hike to Mesa Falls. We did it last year and LOVED it! The whole route is amazing, and the destination is incredible. We had lots of people from the IFTR join us, and it was a great day. It snowed the night before, so the trees looked awesome. Mason got snowshoes for Christmas, so this one his first time trying them out.

Cute little newly engaged lovebirds.

This is the view we had all along the ridge to the lower falls. So pretty!

Love Love Love

I'm sure glad we like to do the same crazy things together.

Lower Mesa Falls

All of us at the lower falls. We could only stay there for a few minutes, cause it gets cold when you stop moving.

We had some great frozen beards on this hike!

From the lower falls, you take the road to the upper falls.

We made it!

It looks so cool in the winter!

Upper Mesa Falls

I will never get tired of seeing stuff like this!

My water froze in my tubes.

Big Judds for our finishing lunch!
We heard they no longer let snowshoers on the trail to the falls. They have to take the road now. That is lame, but I'm super grateful we did it when we did!
